Building Strong Literacy
Right from Kindergarten, SJSV honors its heritage of academic excellence by combining two world-class literacy programs to lay a powerful foundation for lifelong learning. Every Jayendran's journey begins with Jolly Phonics, a research-validated, multisensory method using sounds, actions, songs, and stories to help young learners effortlessly hear phonemes, recognize graphemes, blend words for reading, and segment them for spelling.
To systematically build upon this phonemic foundation, we introduce the Fitzroy Readers, an internationally structured program that accelerates reading fluency, expands real-world vocabulary, and develops deep comprehension from an early age. Together, these complementary frameworks bridge the gap between letter sounds and full storytelling, ensuring that SJSV students carry forward a proud heritage of high literacy, articulate communication, and independent thinking right from the very start of their education.
